Just as an exercise in Motion Graphics and 2.5D animation, I took my cover illustration for Space Walker, my 2012 contribution to 8 In Space! I separated the character, meteors, planets, and the star field, to create a sense of depth. In this short clip, the camera simply pulls back to reveal the lead character walking in space and then the title reveals. I think the SFX bring it all together and make an entertaining little tease at the art and atmosphere of Space Walker.
I had such a great time creating this short 8 page story back in 2012, and it was a lot of fun to lend it to different medium with animation, today. It’s a short story about the wonder of space, and the simple joy that is often found in those things that are right around us that we may not have appreciated before. Visit my Space Walker page to get a look at more of the Art from the comic. I may even return to this story some day and expound upon it, but for now, I hope you enjoyed the short clip below.
